The Davenport Difference

So what's in a tag line?  What exactly does an "Unconfining Space" mean?  The answer goes back to when Lindsay was looking for a reception location for our wedding back in 2002.  She experienced difficulty finding a location that was reasonably priced, and when she did find something in our price range, the location forced you to use their catering, florist and/or other vendors.

With ever location there was an issue with these "exclusive" vendors we would be required to use.  For caterers, either their menu wasn't what we wanted, or the price was higher than most caterers.  Obviously these locations were benefitting financially from these exclusive relationships.

In 2003, when we decided to renovate The Davenport building into a reception hall, there was no question that we wanted to build our business around helping others avoid the frustrations we had finding the perfect location.

The Davenport is one of the few venues in Upstate SC that allows our patrons to use any outside caterer they want. In fact, we actually require that you use an outside caterer :)  Since we do get asked who's the best a lot, we do offer recommendations for caterers, DJ's, florist, etc..., but do not require that you use any of them.

This recommendation list (called the White List by your staff) has been compiled over the years by vendors that we know will take great care of you.  Vendors can not buy their way on to the list, so you can be confident each vendor is of top quality.

The inner beauty of The Davenport is that you can have a memoriable event on any budget.  You can bring in amazing floral arrangements, hire a live band, and bring food in from South America, or simply use The Davenport's natural elegance, play music from your ipod, and have a friend prepare the food.
