The Davenport will be host to the delegation during a lunch Wednesday, October 14.  The 13 members of Women for FUTURE Iraq will be touring the upstate, making stops in Greer, Greenville and Spartanburg as part of a 5 day leadership conference.

Nancy Welch will be speaking during the lunch event at The Davenport.  Ms Welch will be speaking on volunteerism and other parts of US, specifically Upstate, SC culture.

The conference was put together by FUTURE (Families United Toward Universal Respect), which was founded in 2005 by Joan Betros.  Ms Betros of  Greer, SC, spent a year in Iraq during 2003-04, working with the Iraqi Media Network in Bagdad as director of women and children's family television programming.

The Upstate FUTURE conference is focused on assisting and supporting the women and families of Iraq.
